The last meeting of Shepshed & Hathern Area Forum was held at Hathern Village Hall.
This was a special meeting to which members of the community had been invited to bring ideas about how a Forum budget of £20,000 can best be used to meet local priorities.
The priorities are:
Creating a cleaner, greener, safer environment
Improving facilities for children and young people
Improving Shepshed Town Centre
About fifty members of the community attended the meeting and there were interesting ideas and proposals on a range of topics. Towards the end of the meeting, members used "voting handsets" to express their preferences for how the Forum budget should be spennt.
People seemed to have enjoyed the evening with comments received including "Everyone seemed to want to help and support one another's ideas" and "Supportive atmosphere for presentations" and "The voting system was excellent".
