We welcome your suggestions for topics for discussion, but please note we cannot guarantee their inclusion on the agenda. In some cases it may be that we include your topic at a further meeting or deal with it outside of the Forum meeting. We will contact you to feedback any action that has been taken. Please use the form below to let us have your suggestion for discussion topics or question(s) you want to raise during the ‘Question Time’ slot.

Rural East Community Forum

The next meeting of the Rural East Community Forum will take place on Thursday 8th March 2012; the venue is:

The Agenda will include an update on the next round of Community Forum Budgets.

An opportunity for local residents to find out more about what can be done to help improve broadband connectivity in Leicestershire.

Please come from 6.30 pm for the chance to network and find out about the Local Leicestershire Access Forum and share your views. The meeting will commence at 7.00pm.

Community Forum Budget Results

COMMUNITY FORUM BUDGET RESULTS:

The results from the Rural East forum are now in. The forum has 2 projects that have been provisionally allocated funds with another project getting part funding. The projects are: -

1 - Medbourne Cricket Club £2500
2 - Houghton Football Pitch £1216.20

2 Reserve Projects Gateway and Traffic Calming in Skeffington (A47) & Houghton Teenage Play area
where join 3rd and share a balance of £6283.80

TOTAL £10,000

The next stage is for an officer task group to work with project proposers to ensure that the funding criteria are met so that Leicestershire County Council can confirm the funding in an offer letter.

The projects will be delivered between January and the end of June 2012.

There is still a chance for communities to get involved...

There is another round in May - July 2012 where your community group could get the funding required so come along to your next forum meeting planned for February 2012 where more information will be available. Want to know more about the process and funds available in this years round click here!

Cash For Your Community!
Leicestershire County Council has made funds available to all 25 Community Forums in the county.
The Rural East forum will have £10k available per year for local communities to invest in local improvements of their choice.

We are looking for projects that can be delivered between January and the end of June 2012.

How can local communities get involved?

If you have a bright idea on how £10,000, you can put forward a project proposal by 27th October 2011. For more information please click here.

From 28th October you can check our website to view & comment on submitted Project Proposals and make suggestions on how the projects could be further improved or developed.

You can attend the Rural East Community Forum Budget Workshop, scheduled for 15th November (6.30-9pm, venue tbc), where you can hear from all projects, discuss some projects in more detail and vote for your favourite projects.

PLEASE NOTE: Workshop spaces are limited and booking is essential. Registration opens on 28th October and will be on a first come, first served basis. You can register by clicking here or by calling 0116 3057034.
