The last meeting was held at Walton on the Wolds Village Hall, Loughborough Road, Walton on the Wolds LE12 7EQ. The main item was about how to plan for and minimise the risk of flooding in the Forum area.

On 13/09 2011 between 4pm and 6pm, the Big Society Roadshow for the Charnwood Area Forums took place at The Moira Centre, Moira Street Loughborough LE11 1AX.
This event was very well attended and supported the principle of ‘Helping to develop the Big Society in your local Community', providing information on Leicestershire County Council's Community Forum Budgets, the Big Society Grant Fund and other relevant funding information. Community members and community groups came along to the event to find out more about what is being done to support the development of the Big Society in Leicestershire.

The last meeting was held at St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School in Quorn LE12 8HQ and was attended by 28 people. The main item on the agenda was the speed and quality of broadband provision in the Forum area and the meeting heard presentations from Matthew Kempson of the County Council and Paul Bimson form BT and Julian Pratt from Openreach. Members of the Forum asked questions and received feedback of imminent plans to improve the infra-structure in Quorn.
The Forum was also updated on policing issues and received some feedback on the Green Spaces consultation and progress with the projects that had been supported by the Area Forum's budget.
Cllr Slater, who had been chair of the Forum for three years, stood down from the role due to pressures of work. Cllr Pauline Ranson was elected as chair and Cllr Roy Brown as vice chair for the next two year period.

The last meeting was held at Sileby Redlands Community Primary School, King Street, in Sileby.
The meeting was be preceeded from 6.30pm by an informal networking session at which you were able to talk to the Police, local councillors and meet other members of the local community.
40 people attended the meeting and feedback received has indicated that most of them enjoyed the inter-active session during which they were able to point out which green spaces they valued, and why they valued them.

The last meeting of the Forum was held at Sileby Redlands Community Primary School in Sileby. Cllr David Slater was re-elected as Forum chair for the next two years. 32 people attended the meeting and were pleased to hear, and support, the recommendations of Richard Downing, Community Engagement Manager, on the final spend of the Forum's PB money, which saw nine project ideas supported across the whole of the Forum area. These will be delivered by end of March 2011.
The main presentations were on Winter gritting, on the minimisation of household waste and the new facility at Mountsorrel, and two current health consultations, on Community Health services and Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.
An important part of the meeting was handed over to community discussions, each for Barrow, Quorn, Sileby and Wolds villages, to agree on the most important local issues, how (in the light of future funding cuts) these will impact upon local communities, and how the Forum might help to address these.

The next meeting will be on Monday 7th February 2011 at Sileby Redlands Community Primary School, starting at 7.00pm.
The last meeting was be held at Burton on the Wolds Village Hall. About 30 people attended the meeting and the main focus of the meeting was an update on the development of the projects supported by the Forum's budget.

The last meeting of the Quorn, Barrow, Sileby and the Wolds Area Forum was held at Rawlins Community College.
Sixty one people attended the meeting and discussed progress on the projects bought forward through the participatory budget process. A recommendation was accepted by the Forum to fund the following projects:
Sileby transport for young people; £2,500 allocated to Voluntary Action Charnwood to earmark for the training of volunteer drivers in Sileby and for subsidising trips by local young people’s groups from Sileby.
Baldwin Trust; £1,500 as a contribution towards the cost of making modifications at a new berth (Pillings Marina) for disabled access to the narrow boat.
Noticeboards; £3,000 to be allocated (£1,000 to Sileby Parish Plan Group, £1,000 to Barrow and £1,000 to Wymeswold) to increase the impact created by environmental improvements and improve community information.
Barrow Church Community Centre: £2,000 allocated towards the development of a suitably equipped kitchen for healthy living education.
Safe Cycle parking; Up to £1,000 to provide cycle stands in four villages.
Seagrave cemetery of remembrance; £750 towards costs of a new garden and seating.
Wymeswold Trim Trail; £1,000 towards the trim Trail providing health recreational opportunities for the whole community and villages around.
The recommendations agreed above will now be put to Charnwood Together for final endorsement before funding can be released.

The last meeting of Quorn, Barrow, Sileby and the Wolds area forum was held at Walton on the Wolds Village Hall.
Members of the community attended a workshop and shared their ideas about how they thought the Forum budget of £20,000 can best be used within the following priorities;
Improving access to services and facilities,
Improving health and well-being,
Creating greener, cleaner, safer living environments.
There were a number of lively and interesting discussions around the workshop. The original list of short-listed projects, and the number of votes these attracted, can be found by clicking on the link below.
After that initial vote, all local residents used "voting handsets" to choose their preferred options from those project ideas that were taken forward to the final vote. The four most favoured ideas were the Barrow Teenage project, Sileby young people's bus, Narrow boat access project and the Sileby, Barrow and Wymeswold noticeboards.
Most people seemed to have enjoyed the meeting and are looking forward to following the the progress of the project ideas. Mrs Thompson, from Sileby, said that she had really enjoyed the discussions with other residents and now appreciated that residents from other towns and villages in the Forum area had common issues and concerns.

The last meeting of Quorn, Barrow, Sileby and the Wolds Area Forum took place at Wymeswold Scouts Headquarters on Monday 9th February 2009.
Issues discussed included Transport strategy and rural passenger transport in the area and Tackling crime and disorder and establishing safer communities.
