COMMUNITY FORUM BUDGET RESULTS:
The results from the Lutterworth, Broughton Astley & Rural West forum are now in. The forum has 6 projects that have been provisionally allocated funds with another project getting part funding. The projects are: -
1 - Arnesby Village hall £1325
2 - Getting Lutterworth Growing £ 593
3 - Theddingworth Play Area £5000
4 - Family Support Project £1307
5 - Small Grants Fund £4000
6 - Hire of Thermal Imaging Camera £ 450
Reserve Project Little Rainbows recieves the balance of £2325
TOTAL £15,000
The next stage is for for the task group to meet and check that the criteria has been met. Once these checks are done an offer letter will be sent out by LCC.
The projects will be delivered between January and the end of June 2012.
There is still a chance for communities to get involved...
There is another round in May - July 2012 where your community group could get the funding required so come along to your next forum meeting planned for February 2012 where more information will be available. Want to know more about the process and funds available in this years round click here!

On Monday 26th September, between 4pm and 6pm, there will be the Big Society Roadshow for Harborough, at Voluntary Action South Leicestershire, St Mary’s Place, Market Harborough, LE16 7DR.
This event will support the principle of ‘Helping to develop the Big Society in your local Community', providing information on Leicestershire County Council's Community Forum Budgets, the Big Society Grant Fund and other relevant funding information.
We hope to encourage community members and community groups to come along to the event in their District, to find out more about what is being done to support the development of the Big Society in Leicestershire.

The meeting was held at Husbands Bosworth Memorial Hall and commenced at 19:00 at, Welford road Husbands Bosworth, LE17 6JX.
The main topic at the Community Forum was Broadband and issues with suitable access to adequate speed. An open debate took places between residents, following a presentation from Leicestershire County Council on potential opportunities and funding to support local communities.
Residents also heard about a consultation by NUON on the new Swinford Community Fund and how they could be involved in allocating £15,000 for local community projects.

Following the withdrawal of support for Community Forums by Harborough District Council, Leicestershire County Council have agreed to take over the organisation of Community Forums in Harborough.
The County Council will refresh the aims, operation and format of the meetings to ensure they are community-led and feature topics that are of relevance to the local community.
It is expected that a new round of Forums will take place in the autumn.
The Rural West Community Forum took place on Tuesday,1st March 2011, 19:00 at Ullesthorpe village Hall, Main Street, Ullesthorpe, LE17 5DH
The agenda included an interactive discussion to canvas local opinion and views on local green spaces. What green spaces do local people value and why. How can they be enhanced? Should they be protected? This will help to inform local policy and planning processes as well as our response to emerging national policies

• Policing update
• Question Time - your opportunity to raise questions about issues and services in your local area

The Rural West Community Forum meeting took place on Tuesday, 14th September 2010 at 19:00 at the Walton Village Hall, Kimcote Rd, Walton. These are some of the issues that were raised

Leicestershire Together, which is partnership between voluntary and statutory organisations have made a budget of £20,000 available for each Have Your Say Community Forum area.
This funding will be allocated in a new, participatory way of making decisions about funding, with residents and community groups making spending proposals and voting on them.
At this workshop residents and community groups shared and discussed their ideas and then voted for their favourites to prioritise them.
The results of the voting are attached below.
A district-wide task group will now look in more details at the ideas and proposals to check the costings and ensure they are feasible. The task group will feed back at the next Rural West Have Your Say meeting on June 23rd.
The next Rural West Have Your Say Forum will take place on 31st March 2010 at 7pm at the Gilmorton Village Hall, Gilmorton

- Question Time
People can also find out how they can be involved in deciding how £20,000 is spent in Lutterworth to support vulnerable and young people, to improve access to services & facilities and to support communities interested in their local area.
