Please find below information on your most recent and upcoming Community Forum meetings.
We welcome your suggestions for topics for discussion, but please note we cannot guarantee their inclusion on the agenda. In some cases it may be that we include your topic at a further meeting or deal with it outside of the Forum meeting. We will contact you to feedback any action that has been taken. Please use the form below to let us have your suggestion for discussion topics or question(s) you want to raise during the ‘Question Time’ slot.
Upcoming Meetings
The Spring 2012 Hinckley Community Forum will be held at William Bradford Community College on Wednesday 14th March 2012 at 6.30pm.
The following topics have been proposed:
• The Future of George Eliot Hospital
• The results of Earl Shilton and Barwell Community Resource Study
Please note that the Chairman and Vice-Chairman roles are up for election, if you would like to be nominated or want further information on what the role entails please call 0116 305 7986 or have a look at the attached role description and guidance below.

Recent Meetings
COMMUNITY FORUM BUDGET RESULTS:
The results from the Hinckley forum are now in. The forum has 7 projects that have been provisionally allocated funds.
The projects are: -
1 – Leicestershire & Rutland Youth Sailing Association £ 830
2 – Wykin Young Homeless Educational Project £1,001
3 – Providing Hot Lunches in the Meadows Community Group Area £1,350
4 – Domestic Abuse Outreach Service £3,000
5 – Friends of Hollycroft Park (FoHP) £4,000
6 – Hinckley Club for Young People Volunteers Co-ordinator £4,000
7 – New Pavilion for Barwell AFC £819
Reserve Project George Ward Youth Drop In.
TOTAL £15,000
The next stage is for the task group to meet and check that the criteria has been met. Once these checks are done an offer letter will be sent out by the Communities & Places Officer at Leicestershire County Council.
The projects will be delivered between January and the end of June 2012.
There is still a chance for communities to get involved...
The next round will be in June - July 2012 where your community group could get the funding required so ensure you come along to your forum meeting planned for March 2012 where more information will be available. On Wednesday 21st September, between 4pm and 6pm, there will be the Big Society Roadshow for the Hinckley & Bosworth area, George Ward Centre, Church Lane, Barwell LE9 8DG.
This event will support the principle of ‘Helping to develop the Big Society in your local Community', providing information on Leicestershire County Council's Community Forum Budgets, the Big Society Grant Fund and other relevant funding information. We hope to encourage community members and community groups to come along to the event in their District, to find out more about what is being done to support the development of the Big Society in Leicestershire.
