This meeting was held at Great Glen. The forum had an interesting presentation and lively discussion on Rural Broadband. Leicestershire County Council has launch a broadband survey and residents are encouraged to complete one for their area. The survey can be found at: -
Please encourage friends, family and local businesses in Leicestershire to complete this survey. It will remain open until the 30th April 2012 and we will publish a summary report in May.

COMMUNITY FORUM BUDGET RESULTS:
The results from the Harborough Central forum are now in. The forum has 1 project that has been provisionally allocated funds with another 3 project getting part funding.
The projects are: -
1 – Great Glen Recreation Ground Pavilion £13,560
2 Reserve Projects Harborough Screen, Harborough Be Safe and Harborough Improvement Team where join 2nd and share a balance of £1440.00
TOTAL £15,000
The next stage is for an officer task group to work with project proposers to ensure that the funding criteria are met so that Leicestershire County Council can confirm the funding in an offer letter.
The projects will be delivered between January and the end of June 2012.
There is still a chance for communities to get involved...

You can participate throughout the process:
• Apply for funding for your community
Put a funding proposal (up to £5,000) forward by 3rd May 2012 for a community project that will benefit the local area.
• View and comment on projects in the local area
From 4th May 2012, you can see what projects have been put forward for your local Forum area and provide comments and suggestions.
• Vote for your favourite projects
Book your place at the Community Forum Budget Decision Night on 24th May 2012, 6-9pm to discuss projects and vote for your favourites. (Booking starts on 4th May 2012. Limited spaces available)
