Quorn, Barrow, Sileby & The Wolds

Quorn, Barrow, Sileby & the Wolds Area Forum

The last meeting of the Quorn, Barrow, Sileby & the Wolds Area Forum took place on Wednesday 1st February 2012 at Sileby Youth Club, King Street, Sileby.

Please find below the Agenda for the meeting, the Minutes will be added once they are available.

There was an update on the projects that were successful in gaining funding from the recent Community Forum budget process.

The Forum also heard about what residents can do to champion their area, with a view to upgrading exchanges to facilitate superfast broadband provision.

There was also a lively discussion on the Localism Bill, which will make it easier for local people to take over the amenities they love and keep them as part of local life.

The next meeting will be a special Forum Budget meeting at which the Area Forum will have £12,500 to allocate to voluntary and community groups. This will take place on Tuesday 22nd May, and the venue for this is likely to be in Barrow. Details of how groups can apply for funding will be put on the Website as and when they become available.

Loughborough North-West

Loughborough North West Area Forum

The next meeting of the Loughborough North West Area Forum will take place on Monday 6th February 2012 at Gorse Covert Community Centre, Maxwell Drive, Loughborough, LE11 4RZ.

The Agenda will include an interactive discussion on services for vulnerable and elderly people and an update on the projects that were successful in gaining funding from the recent Community Forum budget process.

Please come from 6.00 pm for the chance to network and have a hot drink. The meeting will commence at 6.30pm.

Loughborough South-West

Loughborough South West Area Forum

The next meeting of the Loughborough South West Area Forum will take place on Monday 20th February 2012 in the Stuart Mason Building at Loughborough University.

The Agenda for the meeting will be added to the Website as soon as it is available but will include an update on the projects that were successful in gaining funding from the recent Community Forum budget process.

Blaby Central

The 15th Blaby Central Community Forum

The Spring 2012 Blaby Central Community Forum has the following topics proposed:
• Education funding
• School Sports Partnership Developments
• Community Forum Budgets 2011 – successful allocation of £15,000 to local projects, plus alternative funding identified for three additional projects
• Community Forum Budgets 2012 – how can local residents and groups get involved with the next workshop (scheduled for May)?

Please also note:

As indicated within the Terms of Reference each Community Forum Chairman shall be up for election every two years. This year, the Blaby Central Chairman has reached the end of this two year position, and, along with the position of Vice-Chair, both opportunities are therefore open to all for election.

Any resident of the Community Forum area can become a Chair or Vice Chair, and the main responsibilities are:
• Make sure that the Community Forum reflects the interests of the community
• Makes sure that the agendas are of interest and use to the community and partners
• Make sure that recommendations made by the Forum are followed up
• Act as a spokesperson on behalf of the Forum

Support in this role is offered.

Ashby, Measham & Moira

The next meeting of the Ashby, Measham, Moira Community Forum will take place on Tuesday 28th February 2012 at the Sir John Moore Building, Top Street, Appleby Magna, DE12 7AH.

The Agenda is still being finalised but is likely to include the following topics:-

Anti-Social Behaviour and Local Policing
Turning Empty Houses into Homes
Credit Unions

There will also be an update on the projects that were successful in gaining funding from the recent Community Forum budget process.

Please come along from 6.30 pm for the chance to network and information share prior to the meeting commencing at 7pm.
