On 15th September, a Big Society Roadshow for your Community Forum area, took place at The Pavilion, Sports Field Lane, Huncote, LE9 3BN.
This event supported the principle of ‘Helping to develop the Big Society in your local Community', providing information on Leicestershire County Council's Community Forum Budgets, the Big Society Grant Fund and other relevant funding information.

Members of the Blaby South Community Forum indicated they would benefit from a greater understanding of how planning decisions are arrived at and what they are based on.
Staff from BDC and Leicestershire County Council (LCC) explained the overall planning process and where & how advice was sought from the ‘strategic authorities', eg Health, Education, Environment Agency, Local Highway Authority to representatives from the County & District Councillors and Parish Councillors & Clerks.
Parish Councils are consultees in the planning process, and have a major role in explaining and shaping how local people can contribute to the planning process and decision. Please see below for a summary of the FAQs.
