Blaby Community Forum Budgeting Workshops 2011!

Leicestershire County Council has made funds available to all 25 Community Forums in the county.

The Blaby District had £40k available per year for local communities to invest in local improvements of their choice.

How did local communities get involved?

Over 30 local groups and organisations requested a share of the £40,000 allocated across the three Blaby Community Forum areas, with projects ranging from outdoor play equipment to the introduction of a Well Family Clinic and mobile youth service provision. By sending in project proposal forms prior to the workshop, other local residents and organisations were able to view & comment on submitted Project Proposals via the website, and make suggestions on how the projects could be further improved or developed.

Each Community Forum area held an interactive workshop where projects were discussed in detail, and all present were able to vote on their favourite projects.

For further information on the results, please see below.

Blaby Central - 24th October - £15,000

Blaby South - 23rd November - £10,000

Blaby North - 5th December - £15,000

Next Steps...

Each of the projects are now being looked at by a Task Group of Leicestershire County Council, Blaby District Council and Voluntary Action Leicestershire to confirm the Feasibility, Appropriateness and Sustainability.

Once satisfied with each project, Leicestershire County Council will issue an offer letter for each project. Funds will be allocated on completion of the project.

Those projects that were not successful will be assisted by Leicestershire County Council in identifying alternative sources of funding, some of which can be found using the links below.
