The people of North West Leicestershire had the opportunity to use their voice to suggest their choice on how to spend £20,000 per Forum area.
Residents from Ashby, Measham, Moira and the surrounding areas were invited to come along to propose ideas for projects worthy of a share of the £20,000. Projects had to benefit children and young people or the local environment, or should contribute to making the Forum area healthier and safer.

The LAST meeting of the Ashby, Ibstock, Measham and Moira-AIMM* (*name change subject to approval) Community Forum took place on Monday 23rd February.

The last meeting of this Forum was held on Thursday 27th November 2008,at 6pm, in the Oakthorpe Sports & Leisure Centre
Topics for discussed included local police priorities, the plans for development over the next 20 years and an opportunity to influence the Big Budget in Leicestershire.

The initial meeting of the Ashby Community Forum was held on Thursday 18th October with Councillors from the Parish, District and County Councils invited to attend. This meeting was used to discuss how the Forum would run in the future and to elect a Chairperson for future meetings.
